I receive multiple questions regarding the recommendation of a skin care routine that would work for a specific skin type. Every skin care routine should enhance your skin’s natural ability to support and heal itself. Organic ingredients in skin care products have evolved over thousands of years to be used to in order to address specific skin conditions. Here are some tips that every skin care routine should have:
Cleansing during the day
I recommend cleansing using a gentle face cleanser. My daily cleanser is the Green Tea Toxin Cleanser, since it is gentle and hypoallergenic, which is excellent for a daily cleanser. Whether you have normal, oily or combination skin, the Green Tea Toxin Cleanser will work great. After cleansing I recommend using a serum for your specific purpose (i.e. face firming, rosacea), and then apply an additional moisturizer if needed. Some skin types which are not overly dry, may not need an additional moisturizer after applying a serum as it may contain enough moisturizing botanicals.
Night time cleansing by skin type
After your day is over, your skin care routine should focus on removing the grime left over from the day. For cleansing at night, I recommend a product with exfoliation, such as the Rooibos Tea Face Scrub for dry and sensitive skin, or the Grapefruit Glycolic Wash for combination and oily skin. At night, specialists recommend a heavier serum or heavier moisturizer, such as the Olive Night Creme or the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer.
Special skin treatments
Treatments are recommended for use 2 to 3 times per week to achieve the specific purpose they were designed for. For example, Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum is a treatment that may be used three times per week on fine lines and wrinkles to smooth and create an even skin tone. The Pure Aloe Vera Skin Treatment can be used 2 to 3 times per week to treat age spots, hyper pigmentation and improve overall complexion. Another treatment recommendation is the Grapefruit Glycolic Scrub, specifically if you have acne scars that you’re looking to clear. As with all types of skin care treatments, it is recommended to use them 2 to 3 times per week for a specific purpose – and then switch to another treatment after that treatment after the product has successfully given you what you are looking for.
